What do you think? If the wiki version is irrelevant, I would gladly w8 for a year and a half and do it again on Q-global. I don't know if it matters that I took the wiki version of Raven's 2 and not the q global one, but the mistakes that I made were at some of the early questions and I solved the hardest ones. I wouldn't bother to test myself again on matrices, because I'm pretty sure that I would score somewhere between 120-135 and I'm fine with that.

You are right, Raven's 2 had many novel problems, but I still think that practice effect affected my score a little bit.

If you aren't able to find it, dm me and I will send it to you from my PC when I get home. I don't have it atm, but you can easily find it on scribd if you search "WAIS IV matrix reasoning". Νo worries! I appreciate the fact that you take the time to respond to my rumbling. I live in Eastern Europe, non native English speaker. Other tests that I took: MAT:51/100, CAIT visual puzzles (15ss), CAIT symbol search (14ss), cait VCI (119). That's pretty much the reason why I arbitrarily reduced the time limit to 20 mins. For example, XOR pattern was really prevalent on RAPM set II and I could instantly spot it because I got it the first time that I did Mensa Norway. The problem is that I had plenty of practice when I took the Ravens tests so I think that I had an advantage compared to the norming sample of these tests. I did Ravens 2 a few months ago and I scored 137 in about 30 mins. I did RAPM set II and I allowed myself 20 mins, arbitrarily. Then I decided to do some more tests and I came across this subreddit. A year after that I did Mensa Norway (new one) out of curiosity and I scored 127 and Mensa dk (131) with a mistake on an early question. I remember that I found it very doable after I got the XOR pattern because most of the harder questions use that pattern.

My first online IQ test ever was Mensa Norway, the old one, and I scored between 131 and 136 on my first try. Well, I'm a special case that's why I consider Ravens II and RAPM set II outliers + take my scores on them with a grain of salt. High range matrices test from this sub (90 min norm): 138.Word memory, real world items that are related (CVLT-II): ~ +1 SD.WAIS-III vocabulary and language: ~ +2 SD.WAIS-III matrices and block puzzles: ~ +2 SD.WAIS-III coding (processing speed): ~ -1 SD.WAIS-III letter-number sequencing: ~ 0 SD.Visual memory (BVMT test): Max score, remembered all figures on first attempt, and also later (+2SD).

Professional tests (I was not given exact scores): Here are some more results since you seem interested: If you know any good tests for short term memory online I'm willing to try. And I kept shuffling the order of things for backwards and sequencing tests. Of course I failed at this, since the numbers never even entered my short term memory. I can clearly remember losing my focus and thinking "Should I cluster the numbers in groups of 2? 3? Or is that cheating?" while the psychologist was listing the digits. To be honest I believe this might be a due to a flaw in WAIS III, since ADHD affects focus and auditory input, and the digit span tasks were based on auditory input. Your results are fascinating to me, given such high intellectual abilities despite the working memory just a little above average. :) In my opinion, these are the most reliable tests right after WAIS.

So this is not a solid confirmation that working memory is strongly correlated with timed matrix reasoning tasks.īut if nothing else, the study at least showed that Reven's tests are very reliable and have an excellent ability to accurately discriminate those in the >95th percentile. Although here we are talking about only 6 people out of 200 who managed to achieve such a high score on Raven’s tests. A study I conducted on a sample of about 200 randomly selected people found that among those who scored high on Raven's 2/Raven's APM set II, the average digit span task was 8.2 digits successfully recalled.
